Prelude

Ausbangla is a brainchild of years of clandestine operations of Nazrul Syed, whose resolute perception and provident thoughts turned into reality – gives birth a team of energetic and varied skilled people with a view to produce and farming agricultural crops on a commercial basis, now as we named it Ausbangla. The idea hatched in Mr Syed’s family in 2002 and took 5 years of labour pain to come into being.

Until now except Bengali community, other community like Vietnamese, Chinese and Indian has become pioneer in agricultural production industry:  cultivating land, growing vegetable crops, dairy farming/animal husbandry, and poultry. These short-term agricultural products and kitchen vegetables like: potato, tomato, cucumber, green pepper, gourd, pumpkin, green leafy vegetables: poi shak, palong shak, dhainnya pata, data shak, lal shak and spices have huge demand among the mass community in general and Asian plus other ethnic community in particular. As we Bengali people of Bangladesh are mostly of agricultural origin and we all in one-way or other are directly or indirectly tied up with some sort of farming – most of whom livelihood is associated with land, water or such precious natural resources. We are farmer by nature rather than livelihood and we all love kitchen gardening whatever the land available in the backyard.

There is a growing necessity for such short-term cash crops among the wider community, which we can feel by the recent soaring tempo of price in the local market. With this tremendous demand of daily green essentials and our farming knowledge and skills by nature makes us think and grow of such cash crop farming – a lucrative business – the seeds of constituting Ausbangla that broadcasted in  831 Jerrara Road, South Marulan, Goulbourn. A green enterprise that does not require high tech strategies to grow, care & maintenance and marketing that product

With that idea and conception back in mind Mr Syed was looking for a farmland to start with cropping at his family level. As he exploring his perception into the ground he discovered that it will be a very hard nut to crack to go alone considering the price of land, volume of works need to set up, cultivate the land and tap the fruit out of farming. He also gathered that constituting such farm solely would be unworthy. At this stage he starts looking for likeminded and farm loving friends who is interested in cooperative farming and opening a green enterprise on a distant country side land rather than in the close proximity of town where land and other living daily essentials are too dear to cope up with. He got M. Kalam and a few other friends on his boat to start the journey. As the journey went at a snail’s pace due to lack of huge amount of cash needed to set up the farm, some of friends got disheartened and felt out of boat in the half way through the journey. He did not abandon his perception and looking for some potential and influential partner to have refurbish his idea and give a bit of momentum to the boat towards its journey.

Now he got people like  Serajul Haque,  Shafique Chowdhury,   Sadikur Khan Moon, Monowar Midha, Habibul Hasan and few others on his boat and inspired them to look for some new members who can appreciate and ready to contribute their knowledge, skills and experience of farming to lead up to the destination: build up a green enterprise. At last the boat is appeared to have reached its destination and anchored at 831 Jerrara Road, Goulburn. Mr Syed has seemed to have a sigh of relief and found a place to dig in and use the potentials of the farm. A journey that started in 2002 and found its destination and Ausbangla starts crawling with the hope of building completely green enterprise.
